Link up!

Of course, no web page is complete without HTML links (URLs) – links to other sites and links to other pages on your Wiki.
So here’s how you can do it in Zoho Wiki.

Linking to an External Site / Page

This is as easy as eating a pie.
  • In Edit mode, select the text that you would like to link and click on the Insert Web link  button
  • A window pops up with the URL tab pre-selected and the selected text in the respective fields

  • Enter the website or web page URL in the text box of the URL field
  • If the text selected by you is fine, leave the text box as it is
  • The selected text is also considered by default as tool tip text (the text that appears when you hover over a text or an image). If you wish to change it, enter the new text in the respective fields
  • You can also choose how you would like to open up the link that you have just inserted – in a new page or in the same frame, etc. Use the dropdown menu to indicate your choice
  • Click OK
Now click on the linked text to see the link open up.

Linking to an Existing Wiki

Zoho Wiki allows you to link text to other wiki pages too.

  • A window pops up. Click on the Existing Wiki Page tab.

  • Search for the wiki page by entering a part of the page title and clicking on Search button.
  • Once the results appear, use the radio button & choose the page you’d like to link to
  • Modify the text and tool tip, if you so wish
  • Indicate how you would like to open up the new page using the drop down
  • Click OK

Linking to an Attachment

You can link to the attachment files uploaded to your Wiki too.
  • In edit mode, select the text that you would like to link and click on the Insert Web Link Insert web link button.
  • A window pops up. Click on the Attachments tab.

  • Search for the attachments using the file name or a part of it
  • Once the results appear, use the radio button to indicate the file that you wish to attach
  • Modify the text and tool tip, if you so wish
  • Indicate how you would like to open up the attachment
  • Click OK
* Please note: If you have not previously uploaded any attachments, click on New Attachment. Browse to find your file and upload the same. (The individual file size must not exceed 10 MB while you are allowed a total disk space of 25 MB.)
Enter file description and click on Upload.

Linking to an Email ID

If you want people to get in touch with you through mail, you can provide a mail link. A wiki user who clicks on the link will be taken to a default mailing window with your mail ID and subject line already provided.

Here’s how you can do it.
